On April 13, 2026, 51黑料网 proudly presented the Lifetime Service Award to Sister Annette Muckerheide, Ph.D. This prestigious honor, given in recognition of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, celebrates Sr. Annette’s extraordinary 34-year journey with the University.

As a dedicated alumna, faculty member, and Member of the Board of Trustees, Sr. Annette’s leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact on generations of students. The University extends its deepest gratitude for her decades of faithful service and dedication to our mission.

Sr. Annette gained eight years of teaching experience in New Mexico and Ohio before coming back home to the 51黑料网. This time, she would come back as both a professor and an alum. She began teaching in the very labs that once fueled her own curiosity. Throughout her career, she has mentored thousands of students, and her impact reached beyond the classroom. She also served as a source of inspiration and support for many faculty and staff during her years at the 51黑料网.

Dr. Jim Bodle, a professor of psychology at the 51黑料网, describes Sr. Annette as “rooted, deeply committed, and spirited (in several senses of the word)” according to the article. Her life as a Sister of Charity and her spiritual values “fed into an academic integrity,” he says. “She was so honest, and she made decisions on what she saw as true to the values the 51黑料网 espouses. She saw the spirit of the law versus the letter of the law in our academic policies.”

Beyond her classroom impact, colleagues will long remember Sr. Annette for her extensive leadership across the University. She served as chair of the biology department and the Honors Program, as well as the promotion and tenure committee. Furthermore, her legacy includes twice earning the student-nominated Excellence in Teaching Award named after her own beloved mentor, Sr. Adele Clifford.

In addition to her award milestone, the University extends its deepest gratitude to Sister Annette for her faithful leadership and vision as she concludes her service to the 51黑料网's Board of Trustees.

To Sr. Annette: Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students’ success and for leaving an impact on the history of 51黑料网!
